General Needs Housing
Tailored Housing for Older People
Discover the comfort and convenience of our bespoke housing in Belfast.
Located in Tennant Street and Geoffrey Street, Belfast these nine purpose-built bungalows and flats have been designed specifically for older people.
These unfurnished properties provide “general needs” housing for over 55s, catering for people who prefer completely independent living but within a thriving community. The development also provides secure off-street parking.
Please note that these properties do not come with a scheme coordinator or support staff.
Sheltered Housing
Independence with Support
Our sheltered housing is designed to provide a comfortable, safe environment for those who prefer more independent living but with the reassurance of support on hand if you need it. Access to local help is always available including an emergency call system with convenient pull cords in each property for added peace of mind.

No more worries about house upkeep, repairs, and maintenance, allowing you to focus on enjoying your life to the fullest.
Independence and Privacy: You’ll have your own bungalow or flat, with its own bedroom, kitchen, living area and bathroom with level access shower, allowing you to live as independently as you like.
A Sense of Community
Purpose-built with older people in mind, all our EROSH accredited sheltered housing comes with communal areas so you can get together with neighbours, forge new friendships and engage in shared interests or hobbies.
Our scheme coordinators visit all sites to offer support and advice when needed. There is also access to 24/7 assistance though the emergency call system in each property.
Supported Sheltered
Support, Security and Safety
Abbeyfield and Wesley’s EROSH accredited Supported Sheltered Houses offer independent living with friendly support. Our family-style houses accommodate 7 to 10 people, creating an environment of companionship and comfort.
Independence with Security: Residents maintain their independence while enjoying the peace of mind that comes with having support available when needed.
Private room that you can furnish to your taste: Each resident has their own comfortable and personalised living space, ensuring privacy and familiar surroundings. Level access showers and lifts are installed in all houses.
Freshly cooked meals, shared together: Every day our residents gather around the table to enjoy delicious, freshly prepared meals, fostering a sense of community and shared experience.
Staff on duty 7 days per week, including overnight and our houses are equipped with a call alarm system for added safety and security, providing immediate assistance if needed.
Staying Connected: Our staff and volunteers organise activities and help you to maintain your hobbies and interests.
Residential Dementia Care
Specialised care, 24/7 assistance
Palmerston, our purpose-built residential home, is designed to cater to the needs of older individuals, particularly those requiring personal care and specialised dementia care. With thirty-nine rooms, we are able to provide a resident-focused, comfortable and supportive environment for all our residents.
Ensuite Rooms with Enhanced Features: Our ensuite rooms feature seated access showers and motion sensors that automatically illuminate the room upon entry, ensuring convenience and safety.
Personalisation and Comfort: Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own furniture, mementoes, and personal items, creating a familiar and homely atmosphere.
Communal Spaces for Socialising: Palmerston offers communal lounges, dining rooms, and various seating areas where residents can socialise, engage in activities, and build connections with fellow residents.
Magical Memory Garden and Themed Spaces: Our residential home boasts a Magical Memory Garden and specially designed outdoor “garden rooms”. These areas provide themed reminiscence spaces, promoting relaxation and triggering positive memories. The gardens are very popular with visiting friends and family, offering a relaxing space to see their loved ones.
Dedicated and Trained Staff: Our staff team are trained in specialist dementia care and offer compassionate, round the clock support to all our residents to create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment, catering to their individual needs. Each is committed to making sure our residents are happy, safe and comfortable.
